Privacy Policy
THE OPERATOR · OPERATORCALLS.COM · EFFECTIVE JULY 17, 2026
THE SHORT VERSION
No accounts, no password, email only if you choose to add one. Your microphone powers the live call and nothing else. We don't record your calls; by default we don't store your conversations either — unless you switch on Tapes, in which case your transcripts are saved to your own file for you, deletable anytime. We don't sell anything about you, and we don't show ads.
WHAT WE PROCESS, AND WHY
- Your voice, during a call. Audio streams to our voice-infrastructure providers (Vapi, with speech recognition by Deepgram and voices by ElevenLabs) and the conversation text to our AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic) solely to run the call and generate your debrief. We do not keep recordings; by default, transcripts exist only long enough to run your call and score it. Tapes (opt-in): if you turn on Tapes in your Caller File, transcripts of your debriefed calls are stored under your operator number so you can reread them. They're yours: view or delete any single tape, and turning Tapes off deletes all of them immediately.
- Your progress. XP, stars, scores, and streaks live in your browser. If you open a Caller File, we store that progress in our database under a random operator number (like OP-XXXX-XXXX) — no name attached. Your first name, if you choose to give one so characters can use it, stays on your device and is sent only within your own calls.
- Backup email (optional). You can attach an email address to your Caller File or your Handler network. It exists to get you back in: we send your operator number or network key to that address as a sign-in link, and nothing else — no digests you didn't ask for, never sold, never shared, never marketing. Remove it anytime (FILE ▸, or email us).
- Usage limits. We count daily calls using a one-way hash that rotates every day. It cannot be traced back to you and expires daily.
- Purchases (website only). Payments are handled entirely by Stripe, which collects your payment details and email under Stripe's privacy policy. We receive only confirmation that a purchase happened, and credit your operator number.
- Real-phone calls. If you ask the Operator to call your phone, your number is used to place that call and to enforce daily limits — nothing else. It is never shared with anyone, never sold, and never used for marketing, robocalls, or any call you didn't request. If you arm The Handler's line or a standing order, your number is stored only to place the calls you consented to, and disarming deletes it immediately (we keep a minimal consent log — timestamps and the last four digits — as legal evidence of what you agreed to and when you revoked it).
- Text messages (SMS). If and only if you explicitly opt in, we may send game-related text messages (mission signals, world updates) to your number. Message frequency varies by your settings; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out and HELP for help. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes; SMS opt-in and consent are never sold or transferred. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties except our SMS delivery provider (Twilio), solely to send the messages you asked for.
WHAT WE DON'T DO
- No selling or sharing of personal information for advertising. No ads at all.
- No call recordings stored by us. If you film your own game night, that's your recording — see our safety page about consent.
- No tracking across other apps or websites.
DELETION
Progress on your device: clear the site's browser data. A Caller File: email us your operator number from the address below and we'll delete the record. Since files carry no name or email, that number is the only key.
CHILDREN
The Operator isn't directed at children under 13. Game night lines are table-friendly; training lines apply deliberate social pressure and are built for adults and teens with a parent's OK.
CHANGES & CONTACT
